UltraThera Technologies, Inc.

Kevin Maher, inventor of GyroStim and founder of UltraThera Technologies, developed the first GyroStim prototype in 2002 to help his young daughter, Mackenzie, who was born with severe cerebral palsy. What began as one father's determination to improve his daughter's life evolved into a breakthrough precision neurotechnology platform now used by clinicians, researchers, military organizations, and elite athletic programs around the world. Kevin continues to serve as President of UltraThera, leading the company's vision, innovation, and global growth.
About UltraThera Technologies
UltraThera Technologies, Inc. is the creator, manufacturer, and global innovator behind GyroStim®—the world's only FDA-cleared, Breakthrough Device-designated multimodal neurorehabilitation platform. Headquartered in Colorado Springs, Colorado, with manufacturing operations in Denver, Colorado, UltraThera has spent nearly two decades pioneering precision neurotechnology designed to improve neurological health and expand what's possible in rehabilitation, human performance, and healthy aging.
What began as a solution for vestibular dysfunction associated with cerebral palsy has evolved into a breakthrough precision neurotechnology platform. Today, GyroStim is helping clinicians deliver more precise and efficient neurological rehabilitation across an expanding range of neurological conditions while creating entirely new opportunities in human performance and Neurological Healthspan.
Our Mission
UltraThera was founded in 2007 with a singular mission:
To expand access to safe, effective, technology-assisted neurorehabilitation that strengthens the neurological foundation for recovery, human performance, and lifelong vitality.
Transforming Neurorehabilitation Through Precision Technology
For decades, neurorehabilitation has remained one of the few areas of medicine still heavily reliant on manual therapy despite the extraordinary complexity and foundational role of the nervous system.
UltraThera developed GyroStim to bring the precision, repeatability, objective quantification, progressively adaptive dosing, and technological sophistication of modern medicine to multimodal neurorehabilitation. Through precisely controlled, computer-guided therapy, GyroStim delivers a level of treatment precision, intensity, reproducibility, and clinical consistency that conventional rehabilitation alone cannot achieve. Perhaps most importantly, GyroStim has expanded access to advanced neurorehabilitation for many individuals whose physical or cognitive limitations make participation in conventional rehabilitation difficult or impossible.
Advancing Neurological Health
Beyond vestibular rehabilitation, GyroStim has opened the door to something far greater: the extraordinary potential of precisely controlled multimodal neurorehabilitation to restore neurological function, enhance human performance, preserve and extend neurological healthspan, and redefine what's possible across every stage of life. By simultaneously engaging the vestibular, visual, cognitive, and sensorimotor systems, GyroStim promotes neuroplasticity while strengthening the neurological foundations of balance, movement, coordination, cognition, and human performance.
Clinical Recognition
UltraThera's commitment to innovation has been recognized through two significant regulatory milestones.
-
August 10, 2021: GyroStim received the FDA's prestigious Breakthrough Device designation for the treatment of vestibular dysfunction and balance disorders.
-
April 27, 2022: GyroStim received FDA marketing clearance (K220231) for the treatment of balance disorders and vestibular dysfunction.
These achievements reflect UltraThera's commitment to scientific innovation, patient safety, and clinical excellence.
Today, an expanding portfolio of retrospective and prospective clinical research continues to evaluate GyroStim across a growing range of neurological conditions while supporting future clinical applications.
