Data: The Key To Success
“The outcomes of vestibular rehabilitative therapy should be corroborated by both subjective self-evaluation by the patient and objective measurements. (Lacour et al., 2015)”
Essential to the success of most any therapy is the ability to advance the activity at an optimal pace, and the best way to accomplish that is with data.
GyroStim software collects, monitors, and displays clinically relevant quantitative data and qualitative data that can be used for evaluating the patient’s response to each run.
The data assists the clinician with making informed decisions (Clinical Decision Support [CDS]) throughout the treatment session: whether to reduce the intensity, increase the intensity, or keep the therapy intensity the same.
The flow chart above illustrates how the subjective data and objective data may be combined to provide strategic run-to-run progression strategies. This data-driven approach provides the clinician with valuable and timely feedback that helps individualize and optimize the therapy session while protecting the individual from over-stimulation, resulting in therapy that is well-tolerated and effective.
“The biomedical scientific community is currently experiencing a dramatic expansion in how data are being used to generate new knowledge and accomplish the goals of reducing disease and disability and improving healthcare delivery. (Ottenbacher et al., 2018)”.
GyroStim's data collection and monitoring features allow clinicians to provide patients with data-driven therapy sessions that are optimized, tolerable, efficient, and effective.
