Who uses GyroStim

GyroStim’s unique combination of vestibular stimulation and sensorimotor exercise is at the forefront of new and improved strategies at clinics, universities, elite sports centers, and military training facilities in eight countries around the world.


Most often used with interactive laser targeting, GyroStim provides valuable multisensory stimulation even when used without targeting, as demonstrated in the video above.

The Common Denominator Across Applications

Clinicians, athletic trainers and researchers use GyroStim in diverse applications for therapeutic rehabilitation, sports training, and scientific research. Regardless of the application for GyroStim, and regardless of the functional abilities of the individual using it, the essence of GyroStim across these applications is the same: it challenges the body (physical ability) and brain (cognitive ability) to perceive, process, and react to dynamic physical and social elements in the surrounding environment.

In fractions of a second, in a never ending cycle throughout life, the brain and body work synergistically to:

  • PERCEIVE: Detailed information about what is happening around us is sensed through the eyes (vision), body (proprioception), ears (hearing), vestibular system (balance), and other senses, and sent via the peripheral nervous system to the brain.

  • PROCESS: Sensory information about the environment is received, coordinated, and distributed throughout the brain, igniting a cascade of processing activity as the brain goes to work, forming an appropriate response to the perceived sensory information.

  • REACT: Once the perceived sensory information has been processed, and a response has been formulated, signals from the brain are fired throughout the body to execute the intended reaction.

Human Performance exists at the intersection of Perceive, Process, and React, as illustrated in the Venn diagram above.
